Autoloading New Pages

Just started MAGELLAN and didn't get anything to auto-load on the page when making an edit. Thoughts?--Tim Plante (talk) 02:25, 11 March 2013 (PDT)

Prepopulation only occurs through the "create article link" template and on the "create article" button, which are currently only used for WikiJournalClub:High-priority articles and WikiJournalClub:Your first article, respectively. Notably, prepopulation does not occur when you create a new article using the search/go box on the top-right of the website. --Dave Iberri (talk) 07:43, 11 March 2013 (PDT)

Intervention Code

In order to be able to expand the way that we can organize studies, we have started putting interventions in the infobox/header thinger in the following format:

| intervention1=(medicine or surgery):(intervention that was done)
| intervention2=(medicine or surgery):(intervention that it was compared to)

Take for example, ALLHAT:

| intervention1=Medicine:Chlorthalidone
| intervention2=Medicine:Amlodipine
| intervention3=Medicine:Lisinopril

Two questions about this:

  1. Do we include "placebo" (a la IPrEx) as an intervention? Or "standard medical therapy" for that matter?
  2. In the ALLHAT example above, should we break things down by class? Ex:
| intervention1=Medicine:Antihypertensive:Diuretic:Chlorthalidone
| intervention2=Medicine:Antihypertensive:Calcium channel blocker:Dihydropyridine:Amlodipine
| intervention3=Medicine:Antihypertensive:ACE-inhibitor:Lisinopril

Disease Topic Pages

Hi team! Back when we were talking about starting this site, one of the thoughts was to develop pages talking about diseases and the trials we have reviewed. Would anyone be interested in helping develop one of these for heart failure? --Tim Plante 04:37, 11 December 2012 (PST)

Emailed reply. --Dave Iberri 20:31, 11 December 2012 (PST)

Baseline characteristics

Hey team! Baseline characteristics are becoming rather sprawling on occasion. Any opposition in having things like PMH and demographics in a list? Example:

  • Demographics: Age 61 years, male 68%
  • Location: US 28%, E. europe 38%, Asia 10%
  • PMH: DM 39%, HTN 27%, HLD 83%
  • Race/ethnicity: Caucasian 99%
  • Medications: statin 83%, ACE-inhibitor 20%, ASA 38%

Also, I'm all for just listing out the characteristics from one of the groups, omitting p-values and averaging the groups.

Volume Purchasing

Hi team, was thinking about how to try and get institutions in on volume purchases. How about linking to this website saying "Do you want to buy the app for your website? Click here for details" and place that under the current app link/text with a spacer. Thoughts? --Tim Plante (talk) 19:11, 26 June 2013 (PDT)

Let's make a separate page WikiJournalClub:About the app/Volume purchasing with 1) who we're interested in reaching through this program, 2) why they're interested (um, it's cheap!), and 3) how to do it (including the apple.com link you provided above). And let's provide this text in the iPhone/Android app screenshot caption section: "Volume purchasing is also available." --Dave Iberri (talk) 09:30, 27 June 2013 (PDT)
